OTP SOFTWARE DEVELOPS INTERFACES THAT LINK IBM NET.COMMERCE AND ORACLE ERP APPLICATIONS

Connects data silo gaps between IBM Net.Commerce software and Oracle databases

(Palo Alto CA, October 19, 1999)..Adding a valuable piece to its “A-Z” e-commerce sales channel solutions, OTP Software Inc., Palo Alto, announced today that it is developing a family of interface solutions that will link IBM Net.Commerce software across the enterprise to Oracle’s ERP and CRM back end applications, including Inventory, Receivables, Order Entry and more.

Peter Liljegren, OTP Software Managing Partner said, “This is important because it gives Oracle’s ERP and CRM customer base an e-commerce front end alternative to Oracle’s I-Store product. It also gives IBM Net.Commerce customers more reason to choose Oracle ERP backends. Companies dedicated to open systems gain solid choices. We anticipate that many of our customers will save significantly on acquisition and implementation costs, while enjoying this proven low-risk, high-return solution now rather than later.”

Besides selling, tuning and supporting the interfaces, OTP Software’s consulting practice has the resources and proven track record to provide an integrated e-commerce/ERP solution.  “We have IBM Net.Commerce Specialists and Oracle consultants on staff who have worked with Oracle Applications for more than ten years. We have what it takes for the back office, the front office and for integrating them together to provide a true e-business solution” said Dan Leader, OTP Software’s Partner/Head of Consulting.

In addition, OTP will make these interfaces and support contracts available to third party systems integrators. Upgrades will be designed, developed and tested in accordance with new IBM and Oracle version releases and internet architectures. OTP continues to identify valuable new e-commerce building blocks and additional announcements can be expected.

Platforms for the interfaces include Oracle 8, DB2, Unix, Windows NT, Sun, and AIX.

OTP Software will demo its IBM/Oracle  e-commerce solution at Oracle OpenWorld in Los Angeles the week of November 14-18.
